Your story.

There's a difference between having something to say and giving people a reason to listen.

The way you explain your purpose, talk about your work, share your achievements and communicate with the people who matter all contribute to how your organisation is understood.

I help organisations develop the stories and messages that underpin their communications, find the people and experiences that bring those stories to life, and get them in front of the audiences they need to reach.

That might mean developing an organisational narrative, building a stronger public profile, making a case for funding or finding better ways to explain what you do and why it matters.

I bring the editorial judgement to find and shape the stories, the communications experience to work out where they'll be most useful, and the practical skills to deliver them.

What I can do.

Organisational narratives and positioning: Develop the overarching story, messages and supporting evidence that explain your organisation and give its communications consistency.

Strategic storytelling: Identify and develop stories that reinforce your organisation's purpose, demonstrate its work and support its objectives.

Media stories and publicity: Find newsworthy opportunities, pitch stories, develop media releases and work with journalists to secure coverage.

Content planning and distribution: Work out what stories to tell, who needs to hear them and which channels will reach them.

Websites and digital content: Develop, review and improve content that helps people understand your organisation and find the information they need.

Publications and reports: Produce annual reports, newsletters, articles and other publications that communicate your work and its results.

Speeches and presentations: Help leaders make a case, explain decisions and communicate with confidence.

Funding proposals and award entries: Present your achievements, evidence and ambitions in compelling submissions.

Writing and editing: Research, write and refine communications, from individual stories to major organisational publications.

Finding the story that works.

Good storytelling starts with understanding what you want to achieve and who you need to reach.

I work with your people to find the substance behind the messages, then decide how best to use it. Sometimes that's one story for a particular audience. Sometimes it's a programme of stories that builds understanding of your organisation over time.

Either way, I’ll make sure every story does its job, to tell the story of yours.

So, you need a hand? Do tell.
